Everton transfer target could secure Saudi Pro League move

Monaco striker Folarin Balogun could still be set for a move in the next month after a deal to join Everton broke down.

Balogun had looked set for a deadline day move to Everton after the two clubs had agreed terms on a prospective transfer.

The USA international failed a medical on Merseyside and, despite the best efforts to rescue the deal, Balogun opted to turn the move down following the uncertainty.

Football Insider have reported that Balogun could still be on the move despite the transfer window closing in English football.

The tranfer window in the Saudi Pro League remains open until 6th October and it is believed that a number of clubs are interested.

Balogun is still hopeful of securing a move, while Monaco themselves are under pressure to complete a deal for financial reasons.

The breakdown in talks with Everton has left manager David Moyes light on attacking options between now and January.

Everton supporters will have been hoping that the deal could be resurrected in January, but that now looks increasingly unlikely given the interest from Saudi clubs.
