Portugal v Slovenia Odds: Cristiano Ronaldo odds-on to get off the mark

Euro 2016 winners Portugal will be confident of progressing through to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 as they take on Slovenia in Frankfurt in the last 16.

After winning their first two group matches against the Czech Republic and Turkey, a rotated Portuguese side slumped to a shock 2-0 defeat to underdogs Georgia, and Roberto Martinez's charges will need to shrug off this defeat quickly ahead of the knockout rounds.

After drawing all three of their group matches against Denmark, Serbia and England, Slovenia have qualified for the knockout stages of a major international tournament for the first time in their history, and could prove a difficult nut to crack for a star-studded Portugal team.

The Portuguese enter this Round of 16 encounter as clear favourites at odds of 1/3, with Slovenia rated 9/1 underdogs.

Despite starting all three of Portugal's group stage matches, the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to get on the scoresheet at this summer's Euros, something the ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United hero will be keen to address as soon as possible.

The all-time record scorer at the Euros with 14, Al-Nassr's Ronaldo is priced at 8/11 to score at Anytime against Slovenia.

Despite their stumble against Georgia, Portugal will be confident of bouncing back against a Slovenia side 51 places below them in the FIFA World Rankings, with manager Roberto Martinez blessed with a squad stacked with quality at his disposal.

You can get odds of Evens for Portugal to be leading Slovenia at both half-time and full-time.

The biggest attacking threat in Slovenia's ranks is undoubtedly Benjamin Sesko, with the 6ft 5ins striker heavily linked with a summer switch to Arsenal before penning a new deal with current employers RB Leipzig.

Following an 18-goal season for RB Leipzig last term, Sesko has failed to find the net so far in Germany this summer, with odds of 9/2 for the physically imposing frontman to break his duck and score at Anytime against Portugal in the last 16.
