Ethan Nwaneri potential next club amid Arsenal exit rumours

According to various reports, Ethan Nwaneri could be set for an Arsenal exit this summer.

Despite becoming the youngest ever Premier League player back in 2022 Ethan Nwaneri's career is yet to properly take off.

Now 19 years-old, Nwaneri has made just 34 top flight appearances in the four years since his debut, scoring four goals and registering two assists.

The emergence of Dowman has done little to help Nwaneri's case for game time, leading to an unsuccessful loan spell to Marseille for the second half of last season.

With Dowman, Odegaard and Eze appearing ahead of him in midfield, alongside Saka and Madueke ahead on the right hand side, it now looks likely that Nwaneri will look for pastures anew in search of regular first team football.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some potential destinations for Nwaneri, should he leave Arsenal this summer.

Premier League

Borussia Dortmund

A club and a league famed for giving young players the platform to develop, Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are one of the clubs most heavily linked with a move for Ethan Nwaneri.

BVB have had a storied history of young English talents, having signed all of Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho and Jamie Gittens, selling three of them for almost €250m, with Jobe Bellingham also currently at the club.

Nwaneri would be given game time to prosper in front of the Yellow Wall, potentially providing him with a pathway to finally to finally reach his lofty potential.

AC Milan

Another club currently credited with an interest in the 19 year-old, AC Milan could make Nwaneri the jewel of their rebuild under Ruben Amorim.

Like Dortmund, the Rossoneri have strong connections to English players, with Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek currently at the club, whilst the likes of David Beckham, Kyle Walker and Tammy Abraham - have plied their trade for the Serie A side previously.

With the Italian league viewed as less athletically demanding than the English top flight, Nwaneri's technical ability would have more freedom to shine under a manager who attempts to play an attractive, attacking brand of football.

Everton

Should Nwaneri choose to remain in the Premier League, a move to Everton would give him the platform to demonstrate his natural talents.

With Iliman Ndiaye heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, the Toffees would likely have enough money to tempt Arsenal into a sale, as well as a gap in the team for Nwaneri to slot straight in.

In Ndiaye, Everton would be losing their maverick, who frequently unlocks opposing defences with moments of magic, big shoes that the 19 year-old would be tasked with filling.

RB Leipzig

Another Bundesliga side renowned for their development of young players, RB Leipzig could be the perfect move for Nwaneri at this stage of his career.

Having already seen attacking midfielders like Dominik Szoboszlai, Xavi Simons and Christopher Nkunku ply their trade for Die Roten Bullen previously, it is clear that a path for progression would be on offer with the German outfit.

Furthermore, with seven of their 10 biggest sales being to Premier League clubs, Leipzig would likely not stand in the 19 year-old's way, should he choose to return to the English top flight later in his career.

Chelsea

A more unlikely move, but could Nwaneri emulate Cole Palmer in moving to Chelsea from reigning Premier League Champions?

Like Palmer, Nwaneri would likely cost a pretty penny, a fee that Chelsea could more than afford, whilst remaining in London could also be of interest to the youngster.

The prospect of playing under Xabi Alonso is proving to be a draw for potential signings and could factor into Nwaneri's decision making as the 19 year-old gets set to make the biggest decision of his career so far.
