2024 Valorant Champions: Prediction, Tips and Odds

With a prize pool of more than $2 million, the 2024 Valorant Champions is one of the biggest events on the Esports calendar.

And the S-Tier competition will get underway in Seoul and Incheon in South Korea on Thursday 1st August with the 16 teams involved starting off in a double-elimination format group stage.

There will be four groups of four teams and the top two will advance to the playoffs, which begin on Wednesday 14th August.

All matches will be played in a best-of-three format with the exception of the lower-bracket final and the Grand Final, which will both have best-of-five formats.

The 2024 Valorant Champions features the best teams from across the globe with the likes of Gen.G Esports of South Korea, Fnatic of the EMEA and Leviatan of the Americas.

Gen.G Esports to win 2024 Valorant Champions  - 5/2

The most consistent outfit in the world of Valorant are also the favourites to win the Valorant Champions and Gen.G Esports represent value at 5/2.

Gen.G have been serious competitors across all five of their major events this year, most recently winning the VCT 2024 Pacific Stage 2.

They were also crowned champions at the VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai in June as well as the VCT 2024 Pacific Kickoff in February.

And in the year's other two S-Tier competitions - the VCT 2024 Masters Madrid and the VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai - they secured runner-up finishes.

Taking their form from their most recent event, the VCT Pacififc Stage 2, there is a lot to like about Gen.G Esports, who won seven of their eight matches in the event, including back-to-back victories over DRX.

Gen.G Esports were not even involved in the 2023 edition of the Valorant Champions but a roster change coming into 2024 has made all the difference.

Reaching the finals of all five competitions has made them a team to be feared and they look set to go to the very top.

Earlier in the season, Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee of giants Paper Resx had claimed it was only a "honeymoon phase" from Gen.G, hinting that the bubble could soon burst.

But if anything they have gone from strength to strength with an experienced core showing terrific composure and synergy, while Kim "Lakia" Jong-min has insisted the players have worked on their life outside of the Esports to create a good balance.

They are undoubtedly the team to beat right now and look overpriced at 5/2 to go the distance.

Team Heretics to win 2024 Valorant Champions - 6/1

It is undoubtedly a bold move to go against hot favourites Gen.G but those after a bigger price might want to consider Spanish outfit Team Heretics at 6/1.

Although not considered absolute juggernauts on the Valorant circuit, Team Heretics have enjoyed some of their best results in the Esport in the last couple of months.

They finished as runners-up in both the VCT 2024 EMEA Stage One and the VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai in May and June respectively before securing third spot at the VCT 2024 EMEA Stage Two.

The Shanghai success was particularly eyecatching as they secured a prize pot of $200,000 and they could be worth monitoring in South Korea.
