The Counter-Strike 2 season continues at a furious pace with the start of the IEM Dallas this week and the stakes are high in Texas.
The winners of the event will not only secure $100,000 in prize money but they will also directly qualify for the IEM Cologne, which will take place in August later this year.
There are 16 teams involved in the event in Dallas and they begin in a double-elimination bracket group stage before moving into the playoffs.
FaZe Clan and Team Spirit are the market leaders at 11/4 but punters should not discount teams such as 7/2 shots Team Vitality as well as Natus Vincere and MOUZ, who are both 5/1 to go the distance.
MOUZ to win IEM Dallas - 5/1
When trying to pick the winner of the IEM Dallas, it is hard to look beyond the team ranked first in the world - MOUZ.
There are a handful of sides ahead of MOUZ in the betting but they come into this event in excellent form and look overpriced to go the distance.
After finishing as runners-up at the IEM Chengdu back in April, they went on to win successive S-Tier events at both season 19 of the ESL Pro League and the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024.
In the process, they have put together a 10-match winning streak, recording comfortable wins over the likes of HEROIC and Spirit at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade last time out.
In the previous IEM event in Chengdu, meanwhile, they took down the likes of Team Liquid and G2 Esports en route to the final before suffering a 2-0 loss to FaZe Clan.
FaZe Clan are the most likely team to edge MOUZ to the title, having won the IEM Chengdu earlier this year, but they were nowhere to be seen at the last season of the ESL Pro League, crashing out in the quarter-final stage.
Team Spirit are also among the main contenders but have been absent from the CS2 circuit recently, while Team Vitality were outclassed 3-0 by MOUZ in the final of the ESL Pro League season 19 earlier this year.
MOUZ to win Group A - 6/4
Those who are in agreement with the MOUZ outright pick should also consider backing them to win Group A.
MOUZ were comfortable group winners in season 19 of the ESL Pro League earlier in the season, winning all three of their matches in their section without dropping a map.
And in the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, they finished their group with a 2-0 win-loss record, so it is clear the team knows how to get the job done.
Team Vitality are marginal favourites at 11/8 to win Group A but, as noted, their previous clash with MOUZ did not go well and MOUZ are the better bet to come out on top.
FaZe Clan to win Group B - 13/8
Group B could be a little more open than Group A but FaZe Clan look the best bet to win the section.
Team Spirit are among the contenders but their appearances at major events have been few and far between this year, with the IEM Katowice winners having skipped an invitation for the ESL Pro League before a strong showing at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade.
FaZe Clan are ultimately a more consistent outfit, having finished 1st-4th in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, reached the final of the IEM Katowice and CS2 Major Copenhagen and won the IEM Chengdu in April.
That all came prior to their quarter-final run at the ESL Pro League and they won their most recent meeting with Spirit 2-1 in Copenhagen back in March.
