Like the iconic Mid-Season Invitational, this event takes place outside of the usual regional splits and will pit teams from different continents against one another.
The first ever edition of First Stand will begin on Monday 10th March 2025 and will run until Sunday 16th March 2025.
The international event is a new addition to the League of Legends calendar and will take place between the first and second splits of all major regions, such as the LCK, LPL and LEC.
The first phase of First Stand 2025 is the group stage which sees the five invited teams compete in a round-robin format and matches are best of three.
The top four sides will then progress to the knockout stage with just one team eliminated in the group stage.
The knockout stage of First Stand 2025 is also straightforward with the remaining four teams split across two semi-finals.
The matches will be best of five and the winner of the knockout stage and therefore First Stand 2025 will qualify directly for the bracket stage of the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 - the next big international event on the League of Legends calendar.
First Stand 2025 will be available to watch on streaming site Twitch as well as YouTube.
There is a prize pool of $1 million for First Stand 2025 with the winners set to take home $300,000, while second place will secure $225,000.
