Esports day-by-day: League of Legends remains the focus

It is set to be a week dominated by League of Legends with action across all the major regional divisions from South Korea's LCK Summer to the European LEC Summer.

Here is a look at matches to keep an eye on in the events along with Halo's latest Major scheduled for Friday.

Monday

League of Legends: Five matches on the cards in LEC Summer

It may not be regarded as the strongest League of Legends division in the world but Europe's LEC Summer is certainly competitive and there are five matches taking place in the split on Monday.

Among them is the battle between highflyers MAD Lions, who are 1/5 to win, and 10/3 shots Excel, while 1/3 G2 Esports tussle with 9/4 Astralis.

The top eight teams in the LEC Summer regular season will progress to the playoffs, otherwise known as the LEC Championship.

Tuesday

League of Legends: LPL Summer leaders JD Gaming lock horns with Ninjas in Pyjamas

Over in China, JD Gaming lead the way in a fiercely contested LPL Summer with Bilibili Gaming just behind them with the same 8-1 win-loss record.

JD Gaming are in action on Tuesday and are 1/16 shots to see off 7/1 Ninjas in Pyjamas with Bilibili Gaming involved later in the day and priced at 1/20 to defeat 15/2 shots Invictus Gaming.

Wednesday

League of Legends: FlyQuest go in search of first win at LCS Summer

There are three League of Legends World Championship spots up for grabs at the end of this season's LCS Summer in North America but FlyQuest are unlikely to be in contention unless they turn things around soon.

They sit bottom of the standings with defeats in all six of their matches and they are available at 6/4 to win their next match on Wednesday against 1/2 Team Liquid, who have won four of their six matches this season.

Thursday

League of Legends: Another triple-header in China's LPL Summer

There are three more matches in China's LPL on Thursday with Bilibili Gaming once again aiming to keep the pressure on JD Gaming at the summit when they face LGD Gaming.

Highflyers Oh My God, meanwhile, are 1/8 to see off struggling FunPlus Phoenix, who are 9/2, while there is a slightly more balanced affair expected between LNG Esports, who are 4/11, and 2/1 shots Team WE.

Friday

Halo: Arlington plays host to latest Major

Away from all of the League of Legends action, the Halo Championship Series continues on Friday with the Arlington Major in Texas.

The A-Tier event has a prize pool of $250,000 and starts with pool play this week with four groups of four teams in a round-robin format.

Eventually the action progresses to the Championship Bracket, which features 12 teams in a double-elimination bracket.

FaZe Clan are favourites to win the event at 7/4, while Spacestation Gaming are 2/1 and OpTic Gaming are 9/4.

Saturday

League of Legends: Close encounter expected between Liiv SANDBOX and Kwandgong Freecs in South Korea

South Korea's LCK is always one of the most exciting League of Legends divisions to follow and this year's LCK Summer backs that up with Gen.G, KT Rolster, Hanwha Life Esports and T1 all pushing for the top two.

But it is also an interesting battle to simply make the playoffs with little separating Kwangdong Freecs and Liiv SANDBOX, who clash in the split on Saturday.

Liiv SANDBOX are 11/10 to beat Kwangdong Freecs, who are 4/6 shots.

Sunday

League of Legends: Highflyers Gen.G and T1 in action in LCK Summer

On Sunday there is another double header in South Korea's LCK Summer - as is the case throughout the week - and the matches feature two of the division's biggest outfits in Gen.G Esports and T1.

The pair met in the final of the LCK Spring playoffs earlier this year, consequently both qualifying for the Mid-Season Invitational.

But while Gen.G have carried on their form from the spring by winning their first six games of the LCK Summer, T1 have faltered a little, losing two games already.

That said, both are strongly fancied to win on Sunday with Gen.G 2/7 against Hanwha Life Esports and T1 1/20 against Nongshim RedForce.
