CS2 - IEM Chengdu 2024: Predictions, Tips, Odds and How to watch

The dust has just settled on the PGL Major Copenhagen but the next big event on the CS2 circuit - the IEM Chengdu - gets underway in China this week.

The event features a prize pool of $250,000 and 16 teams, although visa issues have meant both Complexity and M80 are not involved, while Copenhagen champions Natus Vincere also miss out.

FaZe Clan - 9/4

The absence of PGL Major Copenhagen winners Natus Vincere, otherwise known as NAVI, opens the door for other teams to compete in Chengdu and it will be music to the ears of FaZe Clan.

FaZe Clan are frontrunners in the betting and it is easy to see why given they were runners-up in Copenhagen, losing the Grand Final 2-1 to NAVI after wins over Team Spirit and Team Vitality earlier in the play-offs.

They remain number one in the world for a reason and have been pretty reliable in 2024 so far, finishing second at the IEM Katowice 2024 and placing in the 1st-4th positions at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups back in January.

Cloud9 - 5/1

At a slightly bigger price, Cloud9 are also worth consideration to win the IEM Chengdu 2024.

They were quarter-finalists at the recent PGL Major Copenhagen and, although they were dumped out 2-0 by Team Vitality, they certainly had their moments in the event.

In the elimination stage, for example, they chalked up wins over big guns such as Natus Vincere and G2 after winning all three of their games during the opening stage.

It has not been a blistering season but they have shown promise of late and could go on a decent run in China.
