Toronto Ultra won the first Major of the 2024 Call of Duty League season, prevailing in Boston back in January, before the second Major went the way of Atlanta FaZe in Miami in March.

Both are therefore tussling for supremacy at the top of the Call of Duty League season standings heading into the third Major, which begins on Thursday at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Canada.

FaZe were the team to beat in qualifying but with home advantage on their side, Toronto should not be discounted in what should be an intriguing tournament.

Toronto Ultra to win Call of Duty League 2024 Stage 3 Major - 11/4

At 4/6, Atlanta FaZe are favourites to win the Stage 3 Major and it is easy to see why.

Not only do FaZe lead the way in the overall Call of Duty League standings with 26 wins from 30 matches, but they were also the standout side in the Stage 3 qualifiers.

Atlanta FaZe progressed through the qualifiers unscathed, posting a 7-0 win-loss record, handing them top seeding and a spot in Winners Round One at the Major.

But they look a little on the short side and at 11/4, Toronto Ultra can give punters a run for their money.

With a 23-6 win-loss record, Ultra are not exactly miles behind Atlanta FaZe in the overall standings and their map-win percentage of 70 per cent is only three per cent less than FaZe's.

As for the Stage 3 qualifiers, they were again not far off FaZe's pace with six wins from their seven matches.

They open against an underwhelming Seattle Surge in the Winners Round and cannot face FaZe until the final.

They should have it in their locker to see off the rest of the opposition and, with home advantage on their side, Toronto Ultra are worth backing to go the distance on their own patch.

While Atlanta FaZe are not a value outright pick, they are worth chancing at 3/1 to finish runners-up.

Those who fancy Toronto Ultra to win the event will likely expect the hosts to come up against FaZe in the final.

Anything less than that would be deemed a serious failure by FaZe, who already have a Major title under their belt in 2024 and were unbeaten in Stage 3 qualifying.

They begin their tournament against Miami Heretics and should also be fancied to see off either LA Thieves or New York Subliners in the second Winners Round.

Miami Heretics to be eliminated in elimination round two  - 9/4

At the other end of the spectrum, Miami Heretics could be in for a tough tournament in Toronto.

With three wins from their seven qualifying matches and a poor round differential of -3, the Heretics only just scraped through to the main event in the Stage 3 Major.

And few will be giving them much of a chance in their tournament opener in the Winners Round one against outright favourites Atlanta FaZe, who had a qualifying round differential of +17.

That means they would drop down to the lower bracket and face Las Vegas Legion - a more winnable encounter given that Legion lost five of their seven qualifying matches for this stage.

Therefore, Miami Heretics could find themselves in the second elimination round but that is where their journey could end as they would likely face LA Thieves or New York Subliners - both teams in the top six of the overall Call of Duty League standings.

With that in mind, the stage of elimination worth backing for Miami Heretics is elimination round two at 9/4.
