The first of two fantastic days at Epsom takes place on Friday and the feature is the third Classic of the British season, the Oaks.
Here are the latest horse racing betting tips for today's card at Epsom from Racing Post tipster Graeme Rodway.
2:35 – Finn's Charm @ 9/1
3:10 – Feed The Flame @ 3/1
4:30 – Dance Sequence @ 12/1
2:35 – Finn's Charm @ 9/1
The 1m½ f handicap (2:35) is a competitive race and the value might lie with FINN'S CHARM, who has dropped 6lb in the weights from an opening mark of 101 to just 95 and could take full advantage.
The lightly-raced four-year-old was good enough to finish second in the German 2000 Guineas at Cologne last season and a reproduction of that Group 2 form would probably be good enough.
He was a close fourth behind the re-opposing Bopedro in a Newmarket handicap last August off a mark 3lb higher than this and proved he retains his ability when sixth on his seasonal reappearance at Chester three weeks ago. He lost a shoe that day and it was his first run following wind surgery.
He is therefore entitled to improve significantly with that under his belt and the soft ground won't pose any problem. One of his two career wins came on good to soft going at Musselburgh last April.
3:10 – Feed The Flame @ 3/1
The first Group 1 is the Coronation Cup (3:10) and Emily Upjohn heads the market. She has a solid course record but is five now and probably past her peak, so take her on with FEED THE FLAME.
This is a race that used to go across The Channel regularly as Andre Fabre has won it six times and Pascal Bary can add his name to the list of winning French trainers by having Feed The Flame right.
He has age on his side as the only four-year-old in the field and looked like he was going forward last season, when the pick of his efforts was a Grand Prix de Paris victory at Longchamp in July.
He has shown high-class form in defeat since, including an eighth in the Arc back at Longchamp in October, and a close third in the Prix Ganay at that track last month over an inadequate 1m2½f.
The step back up to 1m4f here is definitely in Feed The Flame's favour and he looks open to more improvement than these older rivals.
4:30 – Dance Sequence @ 12/1
The feature is The Oaks (4:30) and it's worth taking a chance on DANCE SEQUENCE, who went unbeaten in two outings as a juvenile last year and has yet to show her best this season.
The Dubawi filly showed her peak form on soft ground last year, when winning the Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket, and maybe she hasn't had her optimum conditions yet this season.
She will definitely have her favoured ground here and is better than she showed when ninth in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket last time. She helped push a good pace throughout that contest and reversed the places with Pretty Crystal, who had beaten her previously, but still didn't get competitive.
Dance Sequence still looked like a work in progress that day, but should improve for the experience and there is hope on pedigree that she will stay 1m4f. Her half-brother New Comedy, who is by Sea The Stars, was at his best over 1m6f and this trip might even bring improvement from the selection.
