England Squad Announcement: Morgan Rogers called up after eight withdrawals

Uncapped quintet Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Lewis Hall, Morgan Rogers, Tino Livramento and James Trafford feature in England's 23-man squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.

Southampton's Harwood-Bellis and Newcastle's Hall were named in Lee Carsley's initial 26-man squad alongside the uncapped Curtis Jones of Liverpool, who returns to the frame after missing October's matches for personal reasons.

Rogers, Livramento and Trafford have been drafted in alongside West Ham's Jarrod Bowen and Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite after eight players withdrew from Carsley's squad due to injury.

Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, Chelsea pair Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer, Manchester City midfielders Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold and Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale are the individuals to have pulled out.

With left-back proving to be a somewhat troublesome position for England, Hall may well be presented with the opportunity to impress incoming manager Thomas Tuchel as the Three Lions travel to Athens to face Greece before welcoming the Republic of Ireland to Wembley on Sunday.

A £35m signing from Chelsea, Hall has featured in all 11 of Newcastle's Premier League fixtures so far this term and starred in the Magpies' 1-0 triumph over Arsenal.

Harwood-Bellis, who replaces John Stones in the squad, captained England U21s to European Championship glory under Carsley in 2023.
