Martinez joined Villa in a £20 million deal from Arsenal in September 2020, and has since gone on to establish himself as one of the Villans' most consistent, and impressive, performers.

However, it appears as though the World Cup winner's time in the Midlands could run its course with the club rumoured to be expected to cash in on him during the summer months, having missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification.

bet365’s Steve Freeth said: "For all the tears back in May against Tottenham in what we thought was a goodbye, Emi Martinez is odds-on for the first time this summer to still be an Aston Villa player at the end of the transfer window after some lumpy wagers on the World Cup winner staying at Villa Park.
