Our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt previews this weekend's IBF and WBO super-bantamweight showdown between Ellie Scotney and Segolene Lefebvre and reveals where the betting value can be found.
IBF super-bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney looks to become a unified champion on Saturday night as she faces WBO belt holder Seglene Lefebvre.
Training alongsIde the likes of Adam Azim, Chris Billam-Smith and Caroline Dubois, Scotney has emerged as one of the sport’s most talented female fighters.
She is a skilful, compact boxer with excellent variety and shot selection. Lefebvre on the other hand, is still something of an unknown quantity. Despite being world champion, there isn’t much tape to watch, but from the little I have managed to find, she is poor technically and it should be a routine night’s work for Scotney.
While not a puncher, a price of 6/1 for Scotney to get the stoppage is very appealing. I expect her to be a level (or two) above Lefebvre and could see her having too much sustained success, forcing the referee to step in.
