Blackpool host Crewe at Bloomfield Road in their opening Northern Group E fixture in the EFL Trophy.
The Tangerines have endured a dismal start to the campaign, winless in their opening four League One matches of the season, with Neil Critchley recently relieved of his duties as manager.
Visitors Crewe have also had a difficult start to the season, with the Railwaymen currently 17th in League Two with just one win from their opening four matches.
Blackpool v Crewe in the EFL Trophy will be broadcast in the UK on Sky Sports+.
Blackpool host Crewe at Bloomfield Road, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 BST on Tuesday 3rd September 2024.
Blackpool have conceded 11 goals in their first four League One matches and are yet to register a clean sheet in England's third tier so far this season.
Despite the Tangerines' league troubles, Blackpool have performed well in the EFL Cup and are due to meet Sheffield Wednesday in the third round after knocking out Burton Albion and Blackburn.
Crewe have also been porous defensively so far this term, conceding seven goals in four league matches, but perhaps more concerningly they have only scored twice themselves during this period.
The most recent meeting between these sides saw Blackpool and Crewe draw 1-1 in League One at Bloomfield Road in March 2021.
