Born in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Ederson started his professional career at Desportivo Brasil, a club from Sao Paulo.

Ederson transfer fee and contract

A deal to sign Atalanta's Ederson would likely cost upwards of €50m, though a bidding war between interested clubs could drive the price higher.

The Serie A outfit signed the midfielder from Italian side Salernitana for a reported €22.90m in January 2022.

Ederson transfer rumours

Both Manchester United and Manchester City are rumoured to be interested in a move for the Atalanta midfielder, and if reports are to be believed, the respective Manchester clubs could be set to go head-to-head for the Brazilian's services this summer.

Liverpool allegedly admire Ederson, but a deal is unlikely given the quality already possessed in that area.

Career so far

Previous clubs

Ederson's youth career started at Brazilian side Desportivo Brasil in 2013, and he would spend six years at the club before making the senior move to Cruzeiro in 2019 after enjoying a one year loan spell for the team.

His time at Cruzeiro wouldn't last long, however, permanently signing for a third Brazilian side in the form of Corinthians.

Two years and one loan spell at Fortaleza later, Ederson was rewarded with his first European move, signing for Serie A outfit Salernitana.

He needed just six months in Serie A to impress fellow Italian sides, and it was Atalanta who acted the fastest, signing Ederson in July 2022.

International caps

Ederson has played just three times for Brazil's national team, making his debut on 9th June 2024 in a 3-2 win against Mexico.

He also had limited international experience at youth level, playing for Brazil's U20s just once.
