UFC legend Dustin Poirier is getting ready to hang up the gloves after a 16-year MMA career.
Poirier has been in the UFC since January 2011 after the organisation purchased the WEC in 2010, with Diamond fighting for the UFC lightweight title on three occasions after taking the interim belt back in 2019.
Poirier's career highlights include wins over Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, Max Holloway (in which he won the interim title), Michael Chandler and back-to-back wins over Conor McGregor. But at the age of 36, Poirier is ready to call time on his career after one final fight.
Poirier's next opponent is still to be confirmed, though he did laugh off suggestions he could face Paddy Pimblett in his retirement fight, declaring 'legends only' for consideration, which significantly limits the number of options available.
No date has yet been set for Dustin Poirier's final fight, though it will likely be on a numbered card around the summer.
