Australian Football: Duo added to Glory injury list

Trent Ostler and Jack Clisby have been added to Perth Glory’s injury list following the 1-0 defeat against Wellington Phoenix on Wednesday night.

Glory are rock bottom of the A-League ladder following the defeat and are priced at 1/500 to pick up the wooden spoon.

Injury list grows

Interim boss Ruben Zadkovich was already without up to 15 players through injury including star striker Bruno Fornaroli and the situation got worse against the Nix.

Ostler suffered a dislocated shoulder, Clisby a suspected MCL injury and both are now facing a spell on the sidelines.

Zadkovich was a frustrated figure after the game. Not with his young players, who gave their all, but with the fixture scheduling.

Frustrated Zadkovich

"I'm frustrated, I'm not happy about the fixturing and I care a lot about my players so it's a tough one to take, losing two more guys," Zadkovich said.

"We have to take the positives out of it, it's almost an unwinnable situation," Zadkovich said.

"If you look at it in reality, with the players that we've got out and the scheduling of the fixtures and the average age of the squad. If you take Liam Reddy out of the squad, age can't be much more than. 21, 22 as a whole."

Glory are back in action when they take on Western United in Tasmania on Saturday which will be their seventh game in five weeks.

Such is the injury situation Glory could now have to fly out even more youngsters to join the squad.
