Daniel Dubois has promised to avenge his 2023 defeat to Oleksandr Usyk as the pair get set to contest the first ever undisputed heavyweight title showdown in the United Kingdom on Saturday 19th July, 2025.
The upcoming blockbuster bout will be staged two years on from their first meeting in Poland, a fight that current WBA, WBO and WBC heavyweight champion Usyk reigned supreme in courtesy of an emphatic ninth round stoppage.
However, the clash was marred by controversy with a seemingly legitimate Dubois body shot dropping the Ukrainian star to his knees in the fifth round, only for the referee to deem it an illegal low-blow.
Usyk was afforded five minutes to recover from the shot before reasserting control of the tussle and subsequently securing victory late on.
Dubois understandably cut a frustrated figure in the immediate aftermath of the affair, vowing to launch an appeal against the decision - one that was eventually dismissed.
However, the Londoner now has his chance to avenge that loss this summer, and he has revealed he plans on taking full advantage of the opportunity by becoming British boxing's first ever four-belt heavyweight ruler.
"This is the fight I wanted and demanded and now I get my chance for revenge against Oleksandr Usyk," he told Queensberry's official website.
I should have won the first fight and was denied by the judgement of the referee, so I will make no mistake this time around in front of my people at the national stadium in my home city.
"I am a superior and more dangerous fighter now and Usyk will find this out for himself on July 19.
"I would like to thank my promoter Frank for making this happen for me and I intend to repay him by becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world."
IBF champion Dubois will undoubtedly step inside the ring for the rematch a far more confident and polished heavyweight campaigner, having enjoyed a stunning resurgence over the past 18 months.
Having initially seen his world title dreams derailed by defeat at the hands of Joe Joyce, the former Team GB star has subsequently established himself as one of the elite operators in the prestigious blue-riband division.
Victories of Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua have elevated his status to an all-time high and promoter Frank Warren is convinced his fighter possesses the skill set and mindset to trouble Tyson Fury conqueror, and pound-for-pound superstar, Usyk.
"I am thrilled to deliver this historic undisputed occasion for Daniel at Wembley Stadium," he said.
"It will be an honour to promote a sporting event of this magnitude and a privilege to bring over a champion of the stature of Oleksandr Usyk.
"I am certain that we will see the best of British both in and outside of the ring, from Daniel and the unrivalled fight fans who will pack out the biggest sporting venue in the country."
