The best teams in Dota 2 return to action for the first time in 2023, as the Dota Pro Circuit action heats up.
The European leg of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit has plenty of top names competing. That action heats up quickly for the teams involved.
Top organizations from the Western Europe region featured are Team Liquid and OG, along with Gaimin Gladiators.
Division 1 of this event fields eight teams with plenty of firepower. The top three teams at the end of this event will qualify for the Major, along with the top six teams staying in their current division.
The bottom two teams at the end of this event will be dropped to Division II for the next event.
Wednesday’s slate features matches with Secret, OG, ITB, Entity, NGX and Tundra all in action.
|What||Team Secret vs. OG, Dota 2 Pro Circuit|
|When||14:00, Wednesday 11th January 2023|
|Odds||Secret 1/1, OG 8/11|
Team Secret looks to get back on track as they will try to rebound from a 2-0 loss at the hands of Team Liquid in their opening match of this event.
They will have to do so against OG who will also be looking to avenge an opening match loss.
OG’s loss came at the hands of Tundra. Both teams failed to win a map in their opening match.
OG will lean on Captain Misha, along with his teammates, Yuragi, bzm, DM and Taiga to try and make some noise in this Pro Circuit event in Dota 2.
Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin is the newest piece of the line-up as he joined the team back in December. Looking at Team Secret’s line-up of five players they are captained by Puppey, with the rest of the team being made up by Crustallis, BOOM, Resolut1on, and Zayac.
Puppey has been a part of the team since 2014, with each of the other four players all joining the organization in 2022.
His experience could be a key factor in Secret getting past OG in this match. Secret is coming off a runner-up finish at The International 2022, which was the final major event in Dota 2 last season.
OG has plenty of experience, but Team Secret is where the value lies.
|What||Into The Breach vs. Entity Gaming, Dota 2 Pro Circuit|
|When||17:00, Wednesday 11th January 2023|
|Odds||Into The Breach 3/1, Entity 2/9|
Into The Breach looks to get off to a strong start as they open play with a match against Entity who came up just short in their opener.
Entity fell in three maps against Gaimin Gladiators and is looking for a chance to bounce back. ITB has some work to do with a whole new line-up adding five players on 15th December.
They are captained by Kidaro. He is joined by Otaker, Supream^, Xibbe and Immersion. ITB also didn’t have much of a successful 2022, which was a big reason they went with a new line-up.
They didn’t partake in ESL One Malaysia or The International. As for Entity, they return a majority of their line-up with one new face and that is watson.
Entity was able to use him in their line-up before this event. He was broken in at the BetBoom Xmas Show where the team finished in the 5th-6th position.
2022 was a respectable season for Entity with a top 12 finish at the International 2022. They also had a nice run to be able to play in Division I of this Tour.
Breaking in a new line-up should make things a little tough for ITB, so backing Entity to cover -1.5 is the right move.
|What||Nigma Galaxy vs. Tundra Esports, Dota 2 Pro Circuit|
|When||20:00, Wednesday 11th January 2023|
|Odds||Nigma Galaxy 4/1, Tundra Esports 1/7|
The final match on Wednesday will see Nigma Galaxy and Tundra Esports meet in a head-to-head setting.
Tundra was able to win their opening match in two maps, knocking off OG. As for NGX this is their first match of the season.
Nigma is here to make a statement, and they can do so with a very respectable schedule ahead of them. They have a major roster chance with the addition of ATF, who could be a real difference maker for the team.
NGX didn’t have a strong showing at the BetBoom Xmas Show, and may need a couple of early mistakes by Tundra to have a shot at winning this head-to-head.
NGX failed to qualify for the International 2022, and didn’t have a good finish to the 2022 season. They were lucky to stay in Division I.
Tundra Esports has built confidence in their roster led by captain Sneyking. This team might have the biggest ceiling in 2023, as they are fresh off winning the Championship at the International 2022.
It was their second top three finish at a major in 2022, as they were also the runner-up at ESL One Stockholm.
Tundra Esports is looking up, and they clearly have the edge in this head-to-head.
