Dominic Calvert-Lewin potential next club

We take a look at a handful of clubs who could be in the hunt for Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer after the Everton frontman officially announced his decision to depart Goodison Park.

Premier League

Injury problems and lack of form has led to Dominic Calvert-Lewin becoming a bit part player at Everton and it has been decided that he will not renew his deal into next season.

Calvert-Lewin - who has scored 71 times for Everton - was limited to just 19 Premier League starts last campaign.

Manchester United

United have already sealed a deal for Matheus Cunha and are working on adding Bryan Mbeumo to their squad but a centre forward will still be a requirement for Ruben Amorim.

Rumours around the future of Rasmus Hojlund continue to swirl but even if the Dane remains at Old Trafford, reinforcements in forward areas will be a priority.

Given the money that United have already spent this window a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin would give the club the opportunity to bring in a backup forward for free.

Newcastle United

With Callum Wilson set to depart Newcastle United this summer, the Magpies will be in the market for a rotational number nine ahead of next season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin would seem to fit that bill perfectly and smacks of a typically shrewd Eddie Howe signing.

The 28-year-old has recently expressed his desire to compete in the UEFA Champions League with a move to the north of England providing him with that opportunity.

Leeds United

Newly-promoted Leeds United have been heavily linked with a move for Beto, but a potential deal for another Everton striker wouldn't be out of the question.

Premier League survival will be the ambition of Daniel Farke's side and reinforcements at the top of the pitch looks to be a priority.

If fit, Calvert-Lewin is a proven Premier League goalscorer and although his wages are likely to be high, Leeds won't have to worry about a transfer fee after the Sheffield-born striker's contract expires at the end of June.

Bayer Leverkusen

Granit Xhaka, Nathan Tella and Emiliano Buendia have all enjoyed successful spells at Bayer Leverkusen following a Premier League move and Dominic Calvert-Lewin could follow a similar path.

With reports suggesting that Bayer 04 will lose Viktor Okoh Boniface this summer, Leverkusen will likely be in the market for a forward.

Calvert-Lewin could very much fit the bill for this role, serving as backup to Patrik Schick - who he profiles very similarly to.

Both Schick and Calvert-Lewin rank highly in terms of aerial ability when compared to their positional peers across Europe and also make a significant defensive contribution.

As well as the stylistic fit, a move to the BayArena would enable Calvert-Lewin to fulfill his UEFA Champions League dream.

Chelsea

A story that seems to be gathering pace is Chelsea's reported pursuit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The forward has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in previous windows but now the Blues have emerged as favourites to sign the 28-year-old after he announced his Everton departure.

With Liam Delap the new kid on the block and Nicolas Jackson linked with clubs across Europe, it could be that Chelsea begin the Premier League season with Calvert-Lewin as the backup forward to their recent acquisition from Ipswich Town.
