NRL: Dolphins land Bulldogs hooker

The Dolphins have confirmed the capture of Jeremy Marshall-King who will arrive from the Canterbury Bulldogs in time for their inaugural 2023 NRL campaign.

The NRL’s latest addition are slowly but surely building their roster for their debut season and following the capture of Marshall-King they now have 16 players on board.

Two-year deal

The 26-year-old has penned a contract that will run until at least the end of the 2024 NRL season and is set to play at hooker and fill the No.9 jersey.

The Dolphins had already signed Harrison Graham, but he is lacking NRL experience so coach Wayne Bennett was keen to get Marshall-King on board.

Marshall-King was set lose the No.9 at the Bulldogs next season after they completed the signing of Reed Mahoney from Parramatta. So the player has jumped at the chance to join the Dolphins, who are also delighted to have him.

Dolphins delight

"Jeremy is a crafty player who will give us some significant experience at some very important positions on the field," Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said. "He is an accomplished dummy half and has also shown he can play in the halves in the NRL, and players with that skill set are hard to find."

The Dolphins are also chasing a host of other players with Cameron Munster and Ryan Matterson also on the radar.

Munster is under contract with Melbourne Storm until the end of 2023 so they will have to be patient with their pursuit of the star playmaker.
