Everything you need to know as Dmitry Bivol gets set to defend his WBA light-heavyweight title against Malik Zinad as part of the Queensberry v Matchroom fight card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday 1st June.
Dmitry Bivol v Malik Zinad will take place on Saturday 1st June 2024.
WBA light-heavyweight champion Bivol was set to tackle fellow unbeaten superstar Artur Beterbiev in a colossal undisputed showdown, however, an injury to the Russian has presented an unexpected world title opportunity to Zinad.
The light-heavyweight showdown is expected to get underway at around 20:30 (BST) as part of the Queensberry v Matchroom promotion, with ring walks starting around 10 minutes earlier, at 20:25 (BST).
The originally scheduled Bivol v Beterbiev bout would have taken top-billing on the night, but that honour will now fall to either Deontay Wilder v Zhilei Zhang or Filip Hrgovic v Daniel Dubois.
The bout will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The venue recently played host to Oleksandr Usyk's undisputed heavyweight title victory over Tyson Fury, whilst the likes of Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Francis Ngannou have also fought inside the purpose-built venue.
Dmitry Bivol v Malik Zinad, together with the full fight card, will be shown live on TNT Sports Box Office and DAZN to subscribers of the streaming platform in the United Kingdom.
Dmitry Bivol will put his WBA light-heavyweight title on the line, with the unbeaten Libyan, Malik Zinad, stepping up to fight for world honours for the first time in his professional boxing career.
As expected, Dmitry Bivol has been installed as the huge 1/25 betting favourite, with Malik Zinad priced at 12/1 to cause what would be one of the biggest world title upsets in the sport's history.
