Everything you need to know about Diving at the Olympics in Paris.
There will be 136 competitors taking part in eight different diving medal events at Paris 2024, four per gender in both individual and synchronized.
Diving at the Summer Olympics in Paris is scheduled to take place between Saturday 27th July and Saturday 10th August.
The format is identical to Tokyo 2020, and there will be an equal split between men and women competitors contesting the same events.
All of the diving events will take place at the purpose-built Paris Aquatic Centre in the northern suburb of Saint-Denis.
The venue has a capacity of 5,000 and will also host the water polo and artistic swimming competitions. The Paris Aquatics Centre is due to open for public use in June 2025.
Diving has been contested at every Olympics since 1904, initially only for men, with women's diving later introduced in 1912.
In 1996 there was the introduction of synchronised diving in both springboard and platform to take the number of events up to eight - four men's and four women's events.
The biggest name within the British diving team is undoubtedly Tom Daley, who made his Olympics debut as a 14-year-old back in 2008.
Daley will be competing in his fourth Olympics and he has so far won one gold and three bronze medals. The 30-year-old won his gold medal in the 10m platform synchro event in Tokyo four years ago and will be bidding to defend that title alongside Noah Williams.
Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher form the men’s 3m springboard synchro team, with Laugher also competing in the 3m individual event.
Jordan Houlden joins Laugher in competing in the individual 3m platform competition, while Williams and Kyle Kothari are in the individual 10m event.
Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Lois Toulson make up the women's 10m platform synchro team and both are also contesting the individual competition.
Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen are the women’s 3m synchro team. Harper is also competing as an individual with Grace Reid in the 3m event.
The focus will undoubtedly be on Daley when it comes to the Team GB diving team but Harper and Mew Jensen will feel they have a chance to land the 3m synchro prize.
They claimed the silver medal at the World Championships in 2023 and then won bronze earlier this year when the competition was held in Doha, so they look to be legitimate medal contenders heading to Paris.
Daley and Matty Lee claimed the diving men's Synchronised 10m Platform gold medal in Tokyo 2020, which was Team GB’s only gold in diving at the Games in Japan.
Team GB have won 13 diving medals in total with two golds, three silver and eight bronze.
Laugher is the most successful British diver with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal, while Daley has the most medals in total with one gold and three bronze.
China dominated the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020 as they won gold medals in all categories aside from the men’s 10m synchro platform.
Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen will be Harper and Mew Jensen’s main competitors in the women’s 3m event.
In the individual men’s 3m springboard, Wang Zongyua took Silver in Japan but has established himself as the clear favourite heading to this summer's event with three successive World Championships.
The USA and Australian teams also look strong but the Chinese competitors will be the favourites going into most, if not all, of the events.
