We assess the credentials of Dillian Whyte and Ebenezer Tetteh as the pair prepare to engage in a heavyweight contest at the Europa Point Stadium in Gibraltar.
While the heavyweight division has thrived over the past two years, Dillian Whyte has found himself on the outside, looking in.
After a lucrative battle with Anthony Joshua fell through, Whyte has largely been inactive.
On 15th December 2024, ‘The Body Snatcher’ returns, taking on Ebenezer Tetteh in Gibraltar.
Whyte will be looking to make a statement against the Ghanaian in a bid to get back in the mix.
For Tetteh, this is an opportunity to gatecrash the world scene having previously failed to rise to the occasion against Daniel Dubois.
Who will prevail?
Let’s have a look at the tale of the tape…

Having spent year as a major player in the heavyweight division, Dillian Whyte has found himself in the boxing wilderness for the last two years.
‘The Body Snatcher’ was set to face Anthony Joshua in a rematch when the clash was scuppered after the Brixton fighter tested positive for a prohibited substance.
After a protracted process, Whyte has since cited a ruling which cleared him of wrong doing as the adverse finding was as a result of taking a contaminated supplement.
The 36-year-old returned to the ring in March, battering faded former gatekeeper Christian Hammer into submission in three rounds.
However, it was an inauspicious return as Whyte swapped arenas and stadiums for the Theatre Royal in Castlebar, Ireland.
His latest bout takes place in another unusual locale, this time, the Europa Sports Complex, Gibraltar.
Gibraltar has been a happy hunting ground for the former world title challenger, as he avenged his defeat to Alexander Povetkin there in 2021.
Whyte still carries name value, and if he can string a few wins together, another big opportunity will likely arrive.
It is imperative that he looks good against Tetteh.

Left hook | Footwork |
Body shots | Stays in range too long |
Applies pressure | Lack of head movement |
Combination punching | Susceptible to uppercuts |
On paper, Ebenezer Tetteh, appears to be a good fighter: 20 knockouts in 23 wins, with his sole defeat coming against, current IBF champion, Daniel Dubois.
However, scratch the surface and a different story emerges: all his victories are against low-level opponents and against ‘DDD’ he looked out of his depth and was stopped in a round.
The clash against the Englishman was Tetteh’s first bout outside of his native Ghana and perhaps the travel, large crowd and TV cameras had an adverse effect.
It is possible he could fare better having had that experience, but it seems unlikely.
The 36-year-old is a classic example of a boxer with a padded record.
Don’t be surprised if this one ends early.
