Derek Chisora has announced that he is set to return to the ring against WBA heavyweight champion Murat Gassiev in December.
'Del Boy' returned to the ring against Deontay Wilder in a bout that was billed as the Brit's 50th and final bout in April.
The gruelling 12-round battle -- which went the way of 'The Bronze Bomber' via split decision -- would exhaust a number of youthful fighters, let alone a 42-year-old 19 years into their career, but in classic Chisora fashion, he has refused to step away from the sport.
'War' proposed a rematch with Wilder in the immediate aftermath of the fight, but Russia's Gassiev has seemingly emerged as Chisora's next opponent.
Speaking at a news conference hosted by the IBA, Chisora said: "In December it will be me versus Gassiev.
"We are going to decide where, either London or Manchester. We are going to put two belts on the line: I believe the IBA belt and the WBA belt, the one Gassiev holds. So why not?
"Let’s have fun with it. We are going to call Uncle Frank [Warren] and George Warren, and then we are going to discuss it."
Gassiev defeated Kubrat Pulev to become the WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion in December 2025, but he was upgraded to the full champion in July when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title.
However, reports have suggested that the WBA are planning to bypass Gassiev and sanction the all-British clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua for the WBA "Super" belt in December, which would likely see the Russia defend the "Regular" strap against Chisora.
As for the IBA, they were stripped of their status as amateur boxing's governing body by the International Olympic Committee in 2023, and they have since been staging professional bouts.
A number of Gassiev's more recent bouts have been under the IBA's banner, including his latest WBA title defence against Peter Kadiru.
The IBA are in line to organise the heavyweight bout between Chisora and Gassiev, and 'Del Boy' was complimentary of the governing body when speaking in Istanbul.
He added: "What people have to understand is that what the IBA does is unbelievable. I believe this goes deeper than that we're doing here right now.
"I believe it's going to get better and better. In December we'll be fighting."
