Lazio won the most recent meeting in April 2023, with Mattia Zaccagni scoring the only goal in an ill-tempered affair which produced three red cards.

Derby della Capitale record goalscorer

Two players have scored 11 times in this fixture. Unsurprisingly, given his two decades of service to Roma, Francesco Totti is one of them, scoring his first goal against Lazio in November 1998. His last goals came in a 2-2 draw in January 2015 when he scored twice. He celebrated by grabbing his phone and taking a selfie of him and the jubilant crowd.

Dino da Costa, who passed away at the age of 89 in November 2020, is the other player to have netted 11 times when pulling on the famous Roma shirt.

Silvio Piola has scored seven times in the derby, with his playing career mainly taking place in the 1930s. He was part of the Italy squad that won the 1938 World Cup.

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is just one goal behind Piola, having netted in four league meetings and two cup clashes.

Players who have represented both Derby della Capitale clubs

In all, 21 players have represented both Lazio and Roma at some stage in their career.

Spanish winger Pedro is the only player to have represented both teams who could feature on Sunday, having joined Lazio from Roma in 2021.
