Last year's winner Fugitif is amongst the favourites to become only the third horse to win the December Gold Cup for a second time at Cheltenham this weekend.
(Odds will display when the market is available)
Poquelin (2009 and 2010) and Frodon (2016 and 2018) are the only other horses to win the race twice, but the Richard Hobson-trained nine-year-old faces some stern opposition on Saturday.
One of the main threats could come from top-weight Stage Star, a three-time Cheltenham winner who could become the first horse to do the double in Cheltenham's signature early season handicaps.
Madara, who was victorious at the December Meeting last season, is also jostling for favouritism ahead of the race, while Ga Law will be hoping to go one better after finishing second twice in handicaps so far this season.
Elsewhere, Il Ridoto and Grandeur D'ame provide winning form heading into the race and shouldn't be discounted in a competitive field.
