David Moyes has suggested that Everton will be busy in the transfer market ahead of their long-awaited move to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer.
Everton were set for a third consecutive battle for survival in the Premier League prior to the arrival of Moyes, but the Scotsman has seemingly steadied the ship, set to finish above former clubs Manchester United and West Ham.
With that said, a considerable amount of uncertainty lies around the future of a number of Toffees players.
With the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane nearing the end of their contracts and Carlos Alcarez, Armando Broja, Jack Harrison and Orel Mangala set to see their loan spells come to an end, the need for reinforcement is glaringly obvious.
Moyes appeared optimistic when speaking to talkSPORT that the club will be provided with the necessary resources in the summer.
When asked by fellow Scotsman Ally McCoist if Everton would be busy in the market, he responded: “Yeah, I think we will be.
“I think the new owners have come in and we’re trying to find our way with them. You know they’re in America and we’re trying to sort of catch up with things.
“We’ve just got a new CEO that’s started so there’s a lot of things that we’re trying to put I place.
“I’ve got a good idea of what the club needs and what the people want and moving to the new stadium, what it’s going to mean for them as well.”
I expect us to be well supported in the transfer market. I don’t think it’ll be outrageous but I think we’ll be able to do a bit of business.
With Calvert-Lewin potentially departing on a free and Broja set to return to Chelsea, rumours have started to emerge regarding the arrival of a new centre forward.
A sensational return for fan favourite Richarlison has been mooted, while the sought after Liam Delap has been suggested.
Leicester’s Victor Kristiansen has also been mentioned as a possible option to compete with Vitalii Mykolenko at left-back.
