Ukrainian Gvozdyk's record stands at 20-1, with 16 of those victories via knockout.

A bronze medallist at the 2012 Olympics, he held the WBC and lineal light-heavyweight titles from 2018 to 2019 before losing to Artur Beterbiev in a unification fight.

Having announced his retirement, the 37-year-old made his ring return in February 2023 and secured a victory over Josue Obando.
