Adam Booth targetting blockbuster David Adeleye v Jeamie TKV rematch on July 19

The British Boxing Board of Control ordered an immediate rematch after the controversial ending to David Adeleye v Jeamie TKV last month, and Adeleye's trainer Adam Booth believes that Wembley Stadium on July 19 would be the perfect stage for the two domestic heavyweight rivals to lock-horns for a second time.

The 28-year-old captured the British heavyweight title at Manchester's Co-op Live Arena, sending TKV packing to the canvas twice in the sixth round before referee Ron Kearney waved the bout off in hugely contentious fashion.

The result sparked huge debates across the boxing world given the telling shot that initially wobbled TKV came as the official, who had asked for the pair to break hold, incredibly pulled down the arm of the 31-year-old, moments before Adeleye laid siege, floored and eventually stopped his opponent.

Jeamie TKV's team immediately vowed to make an appeal and just days later the BBBOC confirmed that they had called for a sequel fight, although, as of yet, no official date has been announced.

Adeleye's trainer Booth - who previously oversaw the fortunes of former cruiserweight and heavyweight king David Haye - says it's only right that the two get the chance to lock-horns for a second time, and believes the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk v Daniel Dubois 2 this summer is the ideal stage for it.

"There is a London show on July 19 that would be the perfect fit," he told talkSPORT this week.

This fight is absolutely perfect for the undercard of Usyk v Dubois, and I'd love to get it done because I see his (David Adeleye's) career being way beyond British level.

- Adam Booth (talkSPORT)

"I want to deal with this one exactly how he should have dealt with it a few weeks ago because in heavyweight boxing, you are always just two fights away from being in the mix.

"We need a good year of progressive fights and being in the gym improving."

Adeleye had been expected to overcome his opponent in the first fight, and despite doing so - albeit in controversial circumstances - TKV was largely perceived to have been the fighter in front at the time of the stoppage.

The Londoner is in the process of reestablishing himself as a genuine world-level contender after being beaten by Fabio Wardley two years ago, and knows he will need to produce a more dominant performance in the rematch to help fulfill his ambitions.

The clash would represent an intriguing addition to the blockbuster Usyk v Dubois bill - a fight that is also undertaking it's second staging after the 'low-blow' controversy that marred their first showdown in Poland.

Usyk was dropped by a heavy shot that was deemed to be low by the referee, before the Ukrainian was given time to recover and then subsequently put his foot on the gas to stop the Briton late on.

Since then, the Queensberry star has broken new ground, capturing the IBF heavyweight title which Usyk relinquished ahead of his second fight with Tyson Fury, making a successful first defence of it with a devastating TKO win over Anthony Joshua last year.

That means Dubois and Usyk will now fight on British soil for undisputed heavyweight glory, with the potential of Adeleye v TKV 2 being added to what promises to be a bumper bill in London.
