The small but powerful kennel of Liz and Rab McNair enjoyed an incredible weekend of competition racing, smashing three different track records at three different venues - all in front of the RPGTV cameras.
Exciting youngster Fromposttopillar was first up on Friday night in his quarter final of the £10,000 RPGTV Cowley Puppy Collar at Oxford, he sauntered to an 11-length success when posting a rapid 26.82sec, setting a new clock for the 450m distance.
Moments later, Gold Collar and Summer Stayers Classic champion Warzone Tom, booked his place into the £20,000 Champion Stakes final at Romford in sensational style.
The powerhouse scorched the London Road sand in 34.55sec lowering the record over 575m, beating local hope Droopys Garden by four lengths.
On Sunday afternoon, St Leger heroine Havana Lover returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion in her Stadium Bookmakers Hunt Cup semi-final at Towcester.
Despite drifting in the betting, it was a question of how far once she was in command and the talented daughter of Laughil Blake posted an impressive 42.76sec - setting a new track record over the 712m distance.
Surprisingly, just one railer has qualified for Friday night's £20,000 Champion Stakes final at Romford, with only two locally-trained stayers making the line-up.
Liz McNair's Warzone Tom set the standard and broke the 575m track record in the process, with Monmore raider Aero Squeak and the Mark Wallis-trained Antigua Biggun also enjoying success.
Maxine Locke's local Droopys Garden qualified in behind Warzone Tom and has the best of the draw on the inside, but everything will rest on how well Warzone Tom starts this week - if he comes away, it will again be a question of how far!
Champion Trainer Mark Wallis has won this event four times in the past and has trained two of the last four winners, his wide seed Antigua Biggun faces an usually draw in trap three.
The Champion Stakes final is live on RPGTV this Friday night at Romford.
Fromposttopillar head and shoulders above the rest once again
As already mentioned, Liz McNair's Fromposttopillar was one of three track record breakers last weekend, but that aside, he rates as one of the most exciting greyhounds in training.
Another demolition job has seen him not only harden as antepost jolly for the £10,000 RPGTV Cowley Puppy Collar, but his price for the 2023 Greyhound Derby continues to collapse.
Also impressive in Friday's quarter-finals was Matt Dartnall's speedy railer Lively Lauren, who saved ground hugging the inside rail tightly throughout.
Romford Puppy Cup runner-up Romeo Mission also caught the eye in victory, trainer Dave Mullins has a brilliant team of young dogs in his kennel and this may just be the best of them.
The RPGTV Cowley Puppy Collar semi-finals are live on RPGTV this Friday night from Oxford.
St Leger champion Havana Lover may have smashed the 712m track record in her semi-final romp, but Sunday's decider is far from a formality with the calibre of opposition lining up.
Hove stayer Clongeel Ozzie caught the eye in defeat during the first round and confirmed that promise when trapping better and making all in his semi-final on Sunday.
Jason Heath's stayer is a big player if he can find another start, as is Kevin Hutton's Roxholme Duchess, who battled hard to qualify after missing the break.
The biggest danger of all to Havana Lover may just be the dog who chased her home last week, another Hove raider Amaze Me Seb.
Richard Rees' staying star performed a miracle to close her down to just over five lengths after early crowding and will get a lot closer to her with any sort of clear run.
