Greyhounds: Dave Clark's weekend preview

In a relatively quiet week in greyhound racing, some of the sport's biggest stars are on show in the £12,500 ARC Kent Plate Final at Central Park on Sunday.

Derby favourite to land another big prize

Liz and Rab McNair handle a small but incredibly talented team of dogs, this year spearheaded by the 12/1 antepost favourite for this year's Greyhound Derby - Fromposttopillar.

The RPGTV Puppy Collar and Hove Olympic champion bids to add another title to his name on Sunday afternoon and should be backed to do so at 5/4.

The powerful tracker performed a minor miracle just to qualify after crowding throughout in last week's semi-final but can bounce back to winning ways over the demanding 500m trip at the track formerly known as Sittingbourne.

The long straights suit the favourite and he is expected to make his move along the back straight and be in command by the time he hits the third turn.

Hope for Paddington in Kent Plate decider

The 13-time champion trainer Mark Wallis sends out the second favourite for Sunday's feature and the greyhound who lowered the colours of Fromposttopillar last week - Hopes Paddington (13/8).

The East Anglian Derby and Blue Riband champion is a proven competition dog and will no doubt have his supporters at 13/8. He has a great chance to boss the inside but simply must get first run on the favourite.

Promising two-year-old Droopys Google (8/1has the inside advantage being drawn in trap one and could go well at a big price, while strong runner Clairkeith Remy (10/1) will appeal to forecast and tricast punters.

Mary can hold Dream in Mullingar decider

Across the Irish Sea, there is €6,000 up for grabs in the RPGTV Irish Cesarewitch Final on Sunday over 600 yards.

Pat Buckley's powerful lady Bobsleigh Dream is stranded out in trap four and, more importantly, has Pat Guilfoyle's classy and versatile lady Magical Mary drawn inside her.

This is a dash to the turn between these two top-class ladies, the inside racing line could prove crucial and may prove the difference.

Guilfoyle's bitch has been over 750yds, if she hits the front at any stage, she will be tough to peg back and gets the nod.
