Darwin Nunez's departure appears inevitable in the summer transfer window, struggling to become a mainstay in the Liverpool XI since the arrival of Arne Slot.

Arriving for a reported £85m fee, the Uruguayan has shown glimpses of quality, but seemingly not enough to win over the Dutch manager.

After seasons of compromise from Liverpool fans, patience is wearing thin, having scored just five goals in the 2024/25 Premier League term.

Should Nunez leave Merseyside, a move to Serie A outfit Napoli appears the most likely, with Antonio Conte's side heavy odds-on favourites. Reports suggest that the player has given the green light to join the club, but the likeliness of the deal depends of the fee Liverpool are demanding.

The Reds reportedly rejected a £70m bid from Al Hilal in the January transfer window. Interest remains there, however, and clubs from the Saudi Pro League are expected to offer proposals.
