Keith Deller MBE takes a closer look at Tuesday night's enthralling World Grand Prix showdown between former world champions Michael Smith and Gary Anderson and explains where he feels the betting value can be found.
Michael Smith v Gary Anderson
Tuesday 7th October (20:45)
What a blockbuster this is, and to think, it's only the first round!
Gary Anderson has been absolutely superb over the past six months or so. In fact, no player on the tour possesses a higher three-dart average than he does over the last 100 legs played.
He's rediscovered his groove and that will be of concern to the rest of the players, especially Michael Smith who faces the task of trying to derail 'The Flying Scotsman' on Tuesday.
There are a few games that I am anticipating going the full three-set distance in the first round, and this is one of them.
I do however, feel as though it will be Gary who comes through victorious, taking advantage of the inconsistency that Michael continues to show on the big stage.
Both players are prolific 180 hitters and, again, Gary has landed more than any other player over the last 100 legs, so expect to see those maximums raining in in this particular match.
I also love the bullseye finish in this match - they are both rhythm players, they will feed off each other and I am convinced that one will take out a leg with that eye-catching bull out-shot.
Odds will display when markets are live.
