Rob Cross takes on Nathan Aspinall in the third of the four quarter-finals on Night 3 of the 2025 Premier League at the 3Arena in Dublin.
Cross has two points to his name courtesy of one win and two losses while Aspinall, like Stephen Bunting, has yet to get off the mark.
Nathan Aspinall to win - 13/10
Cross and Aspinall have had very different starts to 2025 which ensures former world champion Voltage goes into their game in Dublin in arguably a better frame of mind.
Cross, one of several big stars who had an underwhelming 2024, has won twice already within the first few weeks of this campaign.
He won the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch at the end of January then a few days later triumphed in the first Players Championship event of the season.
In between those triumphs, he kicked off the Premier League in Belfast by beating Stephen Bunting to reach the semis where he found Chris Dobey too hot to handle.
Encouraging stuff from Cross is in contrast to Aspinall's schedule which has been littered with losses and poor numbers.
The ever-crocked Asp saw a flare-up with an elbow injury return at just the wrong time but his numbers this week in Rosmalen in the Players Championship look far more encouraging.
He played only three matches over the two days but averaged 104 seeing off Gian van Veen on Monday and averaged 101.7 over the two days.
If Aspinall, who has also chronicled his issues with dartitis, is pain-free he's a player who will regularly defy the odds because his battling instincts and his heart will get him through tight contests. He is also a massive crowd favourite.
And he knows he can beat Cross. After all, these two met five times in last season's Premier League and it was Aspinall who won all five.
Rob Cross 1st 180 - 2-way - Evs
There probably isn't enough between the players' 180 records to suggest Cross cannot land first 180 honours at Evens.
Cross is averaging a maximum every 5.2 legs in the Premier League and one every 3.4 legs on the Pro Tour.
Aspinall is averaging a maximum every 6 legs in the Premier League and one every 2.9 legs on the Pro Tour.
Bet Builder: Over 4.5 Match 180s/1+ 100+ checkout - Evs
It's entirely likely this match is a close-run affair and could well go the distance, or close to it.
To that end, over 4.5 180s looks a reasonable play given the power hitting of the pair of them.
Stick that in a Bet Builder with one or more ton-plus checkouts, a double which works out at around Evens.
Cross has had a checkout of 100 or over in two of his three games while Aspinall managed to nail two in the four legs he won off Gerwyn Price in Glasgow last Thursday.
