Czech Darts Open: Dates, location, history & how to watch

The Czech Darts Open, the 13th and final event on the 2024 European Tour, will see the stars of the game gather in Prague for three days of top-class action.

Peter Wright is the defending champion and is one of 48 players toeing the oche at the PVA EXPO in the Czech capital with eyes on the £30,000 first prize.

The Czech Darts Open is being held from Friday 18th October to Sunday 20th October 2024.

Thirty-two qualifiers will take part in 16 first-round matches on Friday, with the 16 winners going on to play the 16 seeds on Saturday in round two.

The third round onwards takes place on the Sunday.

The Czech Darts Open has two sessions on each of its three days. The afternoon session begins at 12:00 BST and the evening session begins at 18:00 BST.

Who is playing in the Czech Darts Open?

The Czech Darts Open is open to a field of 48 players.

There are 16 seeds headed by Dave Chisnall and including the likes of world No.1 Luke Humphries, teenage sensation Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen, the most prolific winner of European Tour events in the PDC.

The 16 seeds enter the competition in round two against the 16 winners from round one, which features 32 qualifiers.

New World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker is among those entering in round one, alongside the likes of Michael Smith, James Wade, Raymond van Barneveld and defending champion Wright. Also in the field will be four Czech qualifiers.

How many times has the Czech Darts Open taken place?

The Czech Darts Open has taken place three times before, first in 2019 and, after a two-year break, has been part of the last two PDC schedules.

Most wins at the Czech Darts Open

Three men have won the Czech Darts Open.

The first winner in 2019 was Jamie Hughes, his one and only main tour win since he joined the PDC in 2018.

Yozzer was unseeded that year and whitewashed Adrian Lewis before beating Stephen Bunting 8-3 in the final.

Current world champion Humphries was the winner in 2022, taking care of Van Gerwen in the quarter-finals, Jose de Sousa in the semis and then Rob Cross in the final, winning 8-5.

Then last year it was Wright's turn to lift the trophy, as he beat Chisnall 8-6 in the final.
