bet365 US Darts Masters: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Luke Littler is making his American debut in the 16-man bet365 US Darts Masters this weekend but it's Luke Humphries who gets the nod to triumph at Madison Square Garden.

Eight PDC stars, headed by Premier League finalists Humphries and Littler and defending champion Michael van Gerwen, are the big names in the Big Apple for the third leg of the seven-event World Series.

The octet will take on eight of the top stars from North America, including last year's beaten finalist Jeff Smith and big-stage regulars Danny Lauby, Jules van Dongen and Matt Campbell.

Round one will be on Friday 31st May, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final held on Saturday 1st June after the North American Championship, the blue riband event on their circuit.

Luke Humphries to win bet365 US Darts Masters - 9/4

Littler can do no wrong on his first year on tour, following up his run to the final of the World Championship with five tournament wins to go alongside another four nightly successes in the Premier League.

However, the 17-year-old did say that he felt drained just a few weeks ago when hot-footing it to Kiel for the Baltic Sea Open, where he failed in the first round.

After all the attention following last Thursday's Premier League success and the subsequent travel to the US and the fanfare that will go with that, his Madison Square Garden debut may not end with a win.

And if Littler finally hits empty, there only looks to be one player capable of consistently beating him at the moment, and that's Humphries and the two young men are set to produce a rivalry that could run and run.

It was Humphries, another four-time nightly winner in this year's Premier League, who was pipped by Littler in the final in London last Thursday.

The world champion and world No.1 has also won on the European Tour this year as well, of course, as being crowned world champion and he, like Littler, is head and shoulders above the rest.

He has experience of reaching last year's semi-finals at Madison Square Garden and can go one better by making the final this time and landing the odds.

Nathan Aspinall to win bet365 US Darts Masters - 14/1

The eight PDC stars are the same eight who took part in the Premier League.

So alongside Littler, Humphries and Van Gerwen, the other raiders are Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross and Peter Wright.

The previous winners on this stage in the field are Smith - who beat Van Gerwen 8-4 to win in 2022 - and the Green Machine himself, who dotted up last year with a stunning 8-0 demolition of Smith in the final.

That was only the second World Series event which had produced a final whitewash and showed that Van Gerwen enjoys playing on this stage.

However, he is less consistent this season, though the same could be said of many of the field.

Aspinall is a former US Darts Master - he won in Las Vegas - and took a weekend off, missing the Dutch Darts Championship, to make sure he is rested for this competition.

He has proved in the Premier League this year, where he missed out on the play-offs in the final week of regular-season action, that he remains a tough man to beat and is decent value to go in on Saturday.
