Founded in 1991, the Danish Superliga replaced the old Danish 1st Division, and remains Denmark's top level of professional football.
Here is everything you need to know about the Danish Superliga.
The 2024/25 Danish Superliga season started on 19th July 2024 and will finish on 24th May 2025.
Like a number of European leagues, the Danish Superliga uses a split league, separating into the championship round and relegation round.
All teams plays a home and away game against the rest of the league, with 22 games played prior to the split. The top six teams and the bottom six teams then play another home and away match within their respective group.
All goals and points from the season are carried over with the bottom two teams relegated, and European places decided by league ranking, with the exception of the final European place. This is decided by the highest team in the relegation round, and the lowest ranked team in the championship round who hasn't already qualified for Europe.
