Tony Bloom has become the latest high-profile owner to put his weight behind the Dan Skelton operation.
Skelton was crowned National Hunt champion trainer for the very first time last season and assembling quite the squad to defend his title in 2026/27.
He already has the backing of some of the richest owners in the sport and the addition of Bloom's enterprise will only serve to strengthen the quality within the yard.
The majority owner and chairman of Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion has experienced huge success within horse racing both over jumps and on the flat. Bloom -- in conjunction with several partners -- has owned Cheltenham Festival winners in Energumene and Poniros, while also experiencing Royal Ascot success with Venetian Sun.
Different Story, a five-year-old mare who won a point-to-point by 64 lengths, was sourced by Skelton at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival sale in March and will now run in the colours of Bloom and Ian McAleavy.
Bloom and McAleavy together own Lake Forest and Santorini Star on the level.
They will now seek to transfer their success to the jumps, but need some rain before we get to see Different Story on the racecourse.
"For the last 18 months or so we've been asking Dan to source a horse for us and this mare became available, so Tony and Ian decided to buy her," Bloom's racing manager Sean Graham told the Racing Post.
"She won the point-to-point impressively and she's probably going to want some ease in the ground. The way the current weather is, that may not be for a while.
"She's been in full training for the last six to eight weeks now but we wouldn't dream of going under starter's orders until the ground changes. Not just us but everyone needs the rain to come."
