Finucane inspired the women's sprint team to a glorious victory as the 21-year-old, accompanied by Katy Marchant and Sophie Capewell, powered Team GB to three world record times, including in the final where they beat New Zealand in comprehensive fashion.
She was delighted to win bronze in the keirin - an event she professed is not her strongest - after finishing behind winner Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand and Dutch silver medallist Hetty van de Wouw.
Born in Carmarthen in Wales, Finucane is now seeking to emulate Laura Kenny and win two Olympic cycling gold medals in a single Games.
A winner of the women’s individual sprint title at the last World Championships in Scotland, FInucane was in dazzling form at this year’s European Championships, adding another sprint crown to her collection.
She's arrived in Paris as the number one ranked sprint rider and after asserting her authority in the women's team sprint, Finucane is the favourite to win gold in the women's individual track sprint.
