Former Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth has reportedly been offered to Manchester United by La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
The Red Devils are believed to be interested in bringing in another striker before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.
Manager Michael Carrick has Benjamin Sesko to call upon as his main striker, while Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are also more than capable of operating in a centre-forward role.
Carrick is happy to let Joshua Zirkzee join Serie A side Fiorentina on loan for the duration of the 2026/27 campaign but he wants to add another quality option as he attempts to juggle the additional fixtures that the UEFA Champions League will provide this season.
TEAMtalk have reported that Atletico striker Sorloth is available this summer and intermediaries have floated the idea to senior figures at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old has been a success in Spain following positive spells at Real Sociedad, Villarreal and now Atletico.
Since moving to Madrid in the summer of 2024, Sorloth has scored 44 goals in 107 appearances for the club.
However, Diego Simeone is believed to be happy to let the striker leave if the club is able to source a replacement in the coming days.
The likes of Jonathan David and Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus have been mooted as potential options for Atletico and any deal could open the door for Sorloth to move on.
Whilst he has enjoyed a fruitful time in front of goal in recent years, Sorloth is best known in England for his disastrous time at Crystal Palace.
Sorloth arrived at Selhurst Park for a fee of £9 million in January 2018 but he failed to score a goal in 16 Premier League appearances for the club.
Subsequent loan deals at Gent and Trabzonspor followed, before Sorloth left to join RB Leipzig on a permanent deal in 2020.
