Stumptown has shortened into 12/1 for the 2025 Grand National after the Gavin Cromwell-trained horse landed the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham.
Going off top weight, Stumptown lived up to the billing as favourite after getting beyond Latenightpass at the last and soaring to the line.
It handed Keith Donoghue his fifth success in the race, and on a third horse, having previously led Tiger Roll and Delta Work to victory.
It was a 1-3 for Cromwell with Latenightpass finishing in second, while Vanillier recovered excellently to take third following an unusual error where he ended up going the wrong way after the fourth fence.
Tiger Roll was the last Cross Country Chase winner to go on and win the Grand National at Aintree having repeated the feat twice in 2018 and 2019, and Stumptown will be looking to replicate that achievement in April.
