The Cross Country Chase will not take place at Cheltenham on Wednesday afternoon after the track failed a morning inspection due to waterlogging.
Officials at Cheltenham had considered rescheduling the race for Gold Cup Day on Friday but with conditions unlikely to improve sufficiently by the end of the week, the race will no longer take place at this year's Festival.
The likes of Delta Work, Galvin and Minella Indo were set to run in this year's renewal but attentions will now turn to the 2024 Grand National for a number of the scheduled runners.
The forecast for the main course is soft, heavy in places for Wednesday's racing at Cheltenham, however, after the lack of overnight rain at Prestbury Park.
Following the cancellation of the Cross Country Chase, there will now be six races taking place on the Wednesday card and four of them have updated start times.
