West Indies v England fifth T20I betting tips and predictions

England opening partnership - Over 25.5 - 10/11

A blistering batting display appeared to have put England on course for a 4-0 lead in their T20I series against the West Indies on Saturday.

However, for the fourth time in four games the team batting second emerged victorious as the Windies chased down a target of 219 with five wickets and one over to spare.

Home openers Evin Lewis and Shai Hope did most of the damage with a stand of 136 in just 9.1 overs but their English counterparts are worth backing to make a strong start in the series finale.

Phil Salt and Will Jacks put on 54 in five overs on Saturday before Jacks top-edged a catch to wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran and they can clear an opening-partnership runs line of 25.5.

Salt has a sensational 20-over record against the West Indies, scoring 640 runs in 13 innings with three centuries and three fifties.

He and Jacks had an opening partnership of 73 in the first T20I, in which Salt scored an unbeaten century. In the second game, Salt was dismissed for a first-ball duck but Jacks and Jos Buttler shared a second-wicket stand of 129 and the West Indies may struggle to make an early breakthrough in the fifth T20I.

England's openers needed only 2.3 overs to reach 26 in Saturday's game in Gros Islet and they should be backed for another productive Powerplay.

Will Jacks to hit most England sixes - 5/1

After a low-scoring third T20I, in which England lost seven wickets on their way to a target of 146, batsmen hit back on Saturday.

England struck 16 sixes, with Jacob Bethell (five), Salt (four) and Buttler (three) the main contributors, and the Windies matched that tally in their successful run-chase.

Evin Lewis led the way with seven sixes and the four openers in the match – Salt, Jacks, Lewis and Hope – struck 16 maximums between them.

At the prices, Jacks is worth a bet to hit the most sixes for England in game five at the Daren Sammy National Stadium.

After a lean ODI series, the Surrey man has made starts in all four of the T20Is, scoring 17, 38, 32 and 25 and striking five maximums.

Jacks has licence to attack the new ball, with Buttler at number three in a deep England batting unit, and he will be desperate to finish the series with a match-winning innings.

Saqib Mahmood to be England top bowler - 3/1

Fast bowler Saqib Mahmood has been one of the stars of the series for England and he is a tempting bet to be their top wicket-taker in the final game.

The Lancashire paceman failed to take a wicket in Saturday's defeat but still impressed, conceding only 24 runs in four overs while his fellow bowlers had economy rates of 10.5, 13.66, 12, 10.75 and 30.

Mahmood was outstanding in the first three matches, taking 4-34, 2-20 and 3-17, and he enjoyed an excellent finish to the 2024 English summer.

He was player of the match in The Hundred final at Lord's, where he took three key wickets in Oval Invincibles' win over Trent Rockets, and dismissed Australia stars Travis Head and Cameron Green in September's first T20I at the Rose Bowl.
