The Spirit were blown away by a brilliant display from England all-rounder Sam Curran on Sunday as they suffered a third defeat in four games this season.

Curran powered Oval Invincibles to victory at Lord's, cracking 51 not out off 22 balls before taking 5-16, including a hat-trick, but the Spirit should be backed to bounce back against the Rockets.

There is plenty of talent in the London line-up, even though England opener Zak Crawley is sidelined by a fractured finger.

Crawley's international team-mates Ollie Pope and Dan Lawrence can lay a foundation for West Indies power hitters Shimron Hetmyer and Andre Russell and the Spirit bowling attack poses a huge threat to their hosts.

Russell, Olly Stone, Dan Worrall and Nathan Ellis form a hugely experienced pace unit, while spinners Liam Dawson and Matt Critchley could tie down a struggling Rockets top order.

The home side made a promising start to their campaign when they swatted aside Northern Superchargers by 47 runs after racking up 185-5 at Headingley.

The Rockets then edged a one-run thriller against Manchester Originals in their second game, but failed to build on that start in two home fixtures against Birmingham Phoenix and Welsh Fire.

Last time out, Welsh Fire bowler David Willey conceded only three runs in the first set of five balls and the Rockets scored five off the next set, bowled by New Zealand's Matt Henry.

Spirit new-ball ace Worrall has been right on the money in his last two games, so backing the Rockets to make under 6.5 runs in their first five balls looks a good bet.

Worrall bowled 10 consecutive dot balls at the start of the Fire innings at Lord's last week and conceded only one run in his first five against the Invincibles, who crawled to 4-1 off 14 deliveries on Sunday.

Dan Lawrence - London Spirit top batter @ 9/2

Spirit captain Lawrence lit up last year's clash with the Rockets, scoring 93 off 49 balls to lead his side to a two-run win at Lord's.

The Surrey all-rounder, buoyed by the news that he will be opening the batting in England's Test series against Sri Lanka later this month, looks overpriced to top-score at Trent Bridge.

He is likely to come in at number four, but remains the visitors' most consistent runscorer and he made 38 against Southern Brave in his first appearance of the season.

Lawrence was pipped for top-batter honours by number eight Dawson, who scored 45 against the Brave, but he can lead the way in Nottingham.

The London captain made 29 against the Fire when Hetmyer's 30 was the highest score of the innings, while he top-scored with 27 against the Invincibles on Sunday.
