Lancashire Lightning beat Sussex Sharks at Hove in the 2011 and 2020 T20 Blast quarter-finals and they are favourites to repeat the feat on Wednesday evening.
Daniel Hughes to be Sussex top batter - 5/2
Sussex Sharks are 6/5 to beat 4/6 visitors Lancashire Lightning in this week's second T20 Blast quarter-final and home supporters are hoping for more batting fireworks from opener Daniel Hughes.
The Australian left-hander, a stalwart for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League, has had a wonderful Blast campaign for Sussex and is a tempting bet to lead the way against Lancashire.
Hughes was the top runscorer in the Blast group stage, racking up 560 runs in 14 innings – 223 more than his most prolific teammate Tom Alsop.
He has relished the batting-friendly conditions at the County Ground in Hove, where he cracked 74 against Glamorgan, 81 against Essex and 96 not out off 54 balls in Sussex's final group fixture against Middlesex.
Hughes made one appearance for Southern Brave in The Hundred this summer, scoring 45 from 30 deliveries in a win over London Spirit, and his fine form has continued in the County Championship.
He struck 144 off 142 balls in Sussex's innings victory against Derbyshire at Hove last week and poses a major threat to Lancashire's hopes of reaching the T20 Blast Finals Day.
Liam Livingstone to hit most match sixes - 6/1
England T20 captain Jos Buttler had been hoping to return to action on Wednesday but the Lancashire star is still struggling with a calf injury.
Buttler's international teammates Phil Salt and Liam Livingstone should line up for the Lightning though and Livingstone is worth backing to hit the most sixes in the match.
Few grounds in world cricket are big enough to contain the powerful all-rounder when he is in the mood, so he will be eyeing up Hove's short boundaries with relish.
Livingstone was player of the match in the last T20 meeting between these sides as he took 4-23 in the 2020 quarter-final victory at Hove.
He also hit two sixes in an 11-ball cameo at the top of the order and his two North Group appearances this summer have yielded six maximums.
The England right-hander cleared the ropes four times in his last innings in The Hundred – a 34-ball 55 in Birmingham Phoenix's dramatic play-off defeat to Southern Brave.
Two of Livingstone's sixes that day came off the bowling of Sussex pacemen Jofra Archer and Tymal Mills and he could inflict more damage on the Sharks on Wednesday.
Lancashire to make highest 1st 6 overs score - 4/5
Lancashire opener Phil Salt will be eager to make an impact against his former county and he can propel the visitors to a fast start in the first six overs.
Salt has had a glorious 12 months in T20 cricket, starring for Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL triumph and establishing himself in the top three of the ICC's T20 batting rankings.
His involvement in June's T20 World Cup restricted him to just two outings in the Blast group stage but he smashed 70 off 42 balls against Nottinghamshire and had a strong finish to his campaign for Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
Luke Wells, Salt's likely opening partner, thumped 53 off 30 in his last innings for Welsh Fire in The Hundred and, with Livingstone lurking at number three, the Lightning are expected to spring out of the traps.
