It is top versus bottom in the T20 Blast South Group on Friday evening as leaders Surrey aim to inflict struggling visitors Middlesex's seventh defeat of the season.
Surrey -5.5 wickets or 27.5 runs on match handicap - 10/11
Surrey are desperate to end their long wait for a second T20 Blast title, having not lifted the trophy since the inaugural season in 2003.
They have made an impressive start to their 2024 campaign, winning six of their first seven completed matches, and their County Championship form has also boosted morale in the camp.
Surrey took a big step towards retaining their Division One title by beating rivals Essex this week so they should be full of confidence when the Blast resumes on Friday.
The hosts have dominated their London rivalry with Middlesex in T20 cricket, winning 28 of their 41 meetings, and they are just 4/11 to beat the South Group strugglers again.
Middlesex produced a stunning display at The Oval last summer, chasing down a record T20 Blast target of 253 with four balls to spare despite having lost their previous 14 Twenty20 matches.
However, normal service has resumed for the men from Lord's, who finished bottom of the South Group table in 2023 and have won only one of their eight games this season.
They were thrashed by Surrey in last month's home game, collapsing to 129-8 to lose by 56 runs, and the favourites are worth backing on the match handicap at The Oval.
It was a similar story in last year's meeting between the sides at Lord's, where Surrey racked up 199-6 before bowling out Middlesex to seal a 73-run win, and the hosts can cover a handicap line of 5.5 wickets if they bat second or 27.5 runs if they set a target.
Sean Abbott - Surrey top bowler - 21/10
Australia international Sean Abbott is one of the leading wicket-takers in this season's T20 Blast and he should be looking forward to another crack at the Middlesex batsmen.
Abbott took 5-18 in four overs at Lord's last month, dismissing five of the top six in the home batting unit – captain Stevie Eskinazi, Martin Andersson, Max Holden, the in-form Ryan Higgins and wicketkeeper Jack Davies.
The Aussies all-rounder is a solid favourite to be Surrey's top bowler at The Oval, where he has already enjoyed success in this summer's Blast.
Abbott took 3-8 in three overs against defending champions Somerset on 2nd June and picked up three more wickets in his last home appearance against Glamorgan.
Luke Hollman - Over 20.5 player performance points - 11/8
One positive for Middlesex during a tough Blast campaign has been the form of leg-spinning all-rounder Luke Hollman, a former England Under-19 international.
Hollman has taken 14 wickets and the highlight of his season came in the home defeat to Surrey as he dismissed Dan Lawrence, Laurie Evans, Ollie Pope, Jamie Smith and Rory Burns to finish with figures of 5-16 in four overs.
The rest of the Middlesex bowlers claimed 3-162 in 16 overs, putting Hollman's spell into context, and the 23-year-old is worth supporting in the player-performance market on Friday.
A line of 20.5 points looks too low, with one point awarded per run, 10 per catch and 20 for each wicket he takes.
As well as his threat with the ball, Hollman is a useful hitter at number seven, scoring 23 off 15 balls and 20 not out off 11 in two innings against Kent this season.
