Surrey topped the South Group of the T20 Blast and are 7/2 outright favourites to lift the title for the first time since the competition’s inaugural edition in 2003.
They next take on Durham at The Oval in the first quarter-final on Tuesday, with Ryan Campbell's men having finished fourth in the North Group on the back of seven wins from 13 completed matches.
Nathan Sowter top Durham bowler - 4/1
Surrey’s recent dominance of domestic cricket has extended to this year’s T20 Blast, where they topped the South Group after losing just three of their 14 games.
No side lost fewer games than that in the group stages and they are a short price to get the better of this Durham side.
However there has been a remarkable amount of turnover in the Surrey squad this summer as they have had 25 players feature in at least one game and only two of their stars have played in 10 or more league outings.
By contrast, Durham have had six players to play in all 14 group games and this is set up to be an intriguing battle between a squad of international stars and a settled team that is happy to fulfil the role of underdog.
One of Durham’s standout performers has been Nathan Sowter, who has been one of the most consistent bowlers in the T20 Blast this season.
Sowter took 19 wickets in the group stages at an average of 15.05 and with an excellent economy rate of 6.35 runs per over.
That was the best economy rate of any bowler to send down more than 20 overs and his measly nature is key to building pressure and taking wickets for his team.
Also interestingly, the spin bowler played for the Oval Invincibles and helped them win The Hundred this summer, with their squad having a big crossover with this Surrey side.
That means that the Australian will have a vast amount of knowledge and experience of the batters he is facing, along with plenty of good recent form bowling at this ground, and could put that to good use.
Sowter was the third all-time leading wicket-taker for Middlesex before moving to Durham and he has arguably taken his bowling to a new level since then.
Side with Sowter to continue his impressive campaign and register the most wickets of any bowler for the visitors at The Oval.
Sam Curran over 46.5 performance points - 5/6
Sam Curran is one of the most dynamic white-ball players in the world. He was named as Player of the Tournament for the 2022 T20 World Cup and was one of the stars for the Oval Invincibles as they won The Hundred this summer.
Only two players took more wickets than his 17 in that tournament and he has been solid in his brief appearances in the T20 Blast this year, making 185 runs at an average of 61.67 in four innings for Surrey.
That included a knock of 102 not out and the England international is capable of taking over a game, particularly at this level.
The all-rounder needs just 46.5 performance points, which are scored at one per run, 10 points per catch and 20 per wicket taken, to go over the line and that is well within his compass on recent form.
Tom Curran over 1.5 wickets - 5/4
Tom Curran is another player who can dominate in the white-ball game and he has been a key aspect of Surrey’s success in the T20 Blast this term, taking 14 wickets at an average of 11.14 in the seven games he has played.
An economy rate of 7.43 is more than respectable and he can star once more for the home team in this clash.
Take Curran to take two or more wickets in this game.
