Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh 1-0 in a high-scoring Test series and the first of three ODIs between the teams takes place at R Premadasa Stadium on Wednesday.
The Lankans beat world champions Australia by 49 runs and 174 runs at the Colombo venue in February and they are hot favourites against a Bangladesh side struggling in 50-over cricket.

Best Bet: Pathum Nissanka to be Sri Lanka top batter @ 10/3
Pathum Nissanka dominated Bangladesh's bowlers in June's two-Test series, scoring 187 in the draw in Galle and 158 in the victory at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Nissanka is also a superb white-ball batsman and his first five ODI innings in 2024 included 210 not out and 118 against Afghanistan and 114 against Bangladesh in Chattogram.
He was dismissed cheaply in February's wins over Australia but should cash in against a weaker new-ball attack on Wednesday.
James Milton explains:
Pathum Nissanka scored a stunning unbeaten 210 off 139 balls in an ODI against Afghanistan last year and, after racking up 369 runs in two Tests against Bangladesh, he looks primed to torment the Tigers in the first one-dayer.
Sri Lanka to win
Eshan Malinga 2+ wickets
Jaker Ali 1+ six
Pays 11/2
Bangladesh are on a miserable run in ODI cricket, losing 19 of their last 25 games, and Sri Lanka should be confident after recent series victories at home to India and Australia.
Sri Lankan fast bowler Eshan Malinga took 13 wickets in seven IPL matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad and he has the talent to make a big impact on the international stage.
A lack of batting firepower has hindered Bangladesh in white-ball cricket, but Jaker Ali is a dangerous middle-order hitter, thumping nine sixes in his seven ODIs and 32 in 26 T20 innings for the Tigers.

James Milton adds:
Sri Lanka's exciting array of all-rounders means they have the batting and bowling depth to win the series opener. Paceman Eshan Malinga caught the eye in the IPL and big-hitting Bangladesh batter Jaker Ali should be backed to clear the ropes at least once.

Opener Nishan Madushka could get the nod over Avishka Fernando after scoring 69 and 38 against the West Indies and 51 against Australia in his first three ODIs.
Dilshan Madushanka and Asitha Fernando are vying for a spot in the pace attack and Sri Lanka's spin department looks very strong.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana should be joined by young all-rounder Dunith Wellalage, who took 5-27 in 5.1 overs in last year's win over India at the R Premadasa Stadium.
Expected Sri Lanka lineup: 1 Nishan Madushka, 2 Pathum Nissanka, 3 Kusal Mendis (wk), 4 Charith Asalanka (c), 5 Kamindu Mendis, 6 Janith Liyanage, 7 Dunith Wellalage, 8 Wanindu Hasaranga, 9 Maheesh Theekshana 10 Eshan Malinga 11 Dilshan Madushanka
There is a new look to the Bangladesh ODI line-up after the retirements of veterans Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah, who earned 513 caps between them.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has taken over as captain from Najmul Hossain Shanto, who scored a century in both innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Shanto also has a solid ODI record against the Lankans, making 80, 90, 122 not out, 40 and one in his five appearances.
Expected Bangladesh lineup: 1 Tanzid Hasan, 2 Litton Das (wk), 3 Mohammad Naim, 4 Najmul Hossain Shanto, 5 Towhid Hridoy, 6 Mehidy Hasan Miraz (c), 7 Jaker Ali, 8 Rishad Hossain, 9 Taskin Ahmed, 10 Mustafizur Rahman, 11 Nahid Rana
