South Africa have already booked their spot in the World Test Championship final later this year and they showed their class in the format with a two-wicket win over Pakistan at the end of 2024.
The Proteas prevailed in Centurion last week, bowling out Pakistan for just 211 and 237 before reaching a second-innings target of 148 to seal the win.
And their preparations for the World Test Championship final continue this week when they square up against Pakistan at Newlands Cricket Ground with both teams expected to make changes.
Dane Paterson is set to miss out after being selected especially for the Centurion pitch and Keshav Maharaj is battling to feature, while Wiaan Mulder could also return to the frame.
As for Pakistan, they may opt for a specialist spinner given conditions at Newlands and Noman Ali could come into the side.
Under 914.5 match runs - 5/6
South Africa are 4/7 favourites to win this contest and it is hard to dispute that given they have won each of their last six Test matches and looked in control in Centurion.
Pakistan lacked a ruthless edge in the first Test, failing to secure victory with South Africa on 99-8, and such complacency will likely be punished again.
But the better wager is on under 914.5 match runs at 5/6 with this likely to be another low-scoring encounter.
Bowlers typically thrive at Newlands, which has produced results in eight of its last nine Test matches across the last decade.
Just last year, South Africa were skittled out for only 55 against India, who posted 153 in reply and the first Test of this series was not exactly full of runs, producing a total of just 899 runs. Expect a similar total this time around.
Kagiso Rabada top 1st Innings bowler - 4/1
One bowler in particular who thrives at Newlands in Cape Town is Kagiso Rabada.
Paceman Rabada has claimed 46 wickets in eight Tests at the venue - that is an average of 5.75 per match - and he has done so at a strike-rate of 33.
It was around this time last year that he took to the Newlands pitch against India, collecting four wickets in the process, while he claimed seven scalps against the same opponents there back in 2022.
Rabada was not at his best in the first Test, taking just two wickets in the match, but he will be more comfortable in Cape Town and is overpriced at 4/1 to be the match's top first-innings wicket-taker.
Corbin Bosch over 3.5 match wickets - 4/6
It remains to be seen exactly how South Africa will line up for this match but Corbin Bosch should get another run out after a brilliant debut in the first Test against Pakistan.
Bosch finished with 81 runs with the bat and five wickets and he could again be dangerous with the ball at Newlands.
Pakistan have been tinkering with their attack in the nets ahead of this contest but their batting has been underwhelming and there should be ample opportunity for wickets, so back Bosch to take at least four across the two innings.
